Kakani challenges Naidu for open debate on agri

Must read

Agriculture Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy has dared Telugu Desam party chief and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for an open debate on agriculture.
Talking to the media here on Sunday, he asked Naidu to fix the time and venue so that he could come for an open debate on the development of the agriculture sector during the TDP regime and the YSRCP.
When the Sarvepalli reservoir was in bad condition, the then CM Chandrababu Naidu did not release funds. But he issued a GO before the 2019 elections and laid the foundation stone hurriedly, he criticised.
The YSRCP regime had started the Sarvepalli reservoir works, he claimed, adding that the TDP regime did not release funds for Sangam and Nellore barrages.
Responding to the news reports on the closure of the Krishnapatnam port container terminal, the Agriculture minister made it clear that the port container terminal would not be closed but would be expanded.
Kakani said that the Nellore public meeting, organised by the TDP, clearly indicated the plummeting graph of TDP in the state. The TDP organised the ‘Ra..Kadalira’ meeting adjacent to the national highway where a thin audience was seen. The failure of the meeting here reflected the pathetic state of TDP, he slammed.
However, Naidu is trying to tell people that the TDP is gaining strength, he said. Targeting Nara Lokesh, the agriculture minister said that Lokesh was holding a red book and stating that names were written in the book.
“I advise Lokesh to write the name of Chandrababu Naidu on the first page,” he ridiculed.  The TDP would disappear after the elections, he predicted. The TDP and JSP are at loggerheads on seat sharing, he said adding, “When there is no clarity among themselves in the alliance what would they do for the people?”
