He inaugurated godowns worth Rs 10.91 crore at Velagaleru in Krishna district along with Mylavaram MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad. These newly constructed godowns have a capacity of 10,000 metric tons and are located at the Marketing Yard Velagaleru of G Konduru Mandal in the NTR district.
During the event, Govardhan Reddy highlighted that there were initially 6.34 lakh metric tons of storage capacity godowns in the State before the recent additions. He emphasised Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s commitment to agricultural growth and the provision of storage facilities to ensure fair prices for agricultural products.
Govardhan Reddy also shared that since assuming office, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has overseen the construction of 40% of godowns across the state. He proudly stated that Andhra Pradesh leads the nation in godown construction.
Expressing confidence in the upcoming elections, Govardhan Reddy declared that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would secure a second term as Chief Minister, asserting that the opposition TDP has minimal chances of regaining power in the state.
Mylavaram MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad added that the state government’s godown construction efforts contribute to food security, enabling farmers to store their produce until they receive the Minimum Support Price (MSP). He acknowledged the role of Former Minister Chanamolu Venkata Rao in acquiring lands for the marketing yard.
