Agriculture Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy has slammed the TDP and its ‘friendly media’ for criticising all the good works of the State government benefiting the people. He alleged that the TDP friendly media had no guts to write that Chandrababu Naidu failed to clear the debts during the TDP rule.

Minister Kakani reiterated YS Jagan’s challenge to the TDP and JSP to contest in 175 seats, demanding that the two parties decide on the challenge. They said Chandrababu had no ethics and honesty and changed his tone every day.

The minister asked Naidu and Pawan whether they had the courage to announce that they would contest in 175 seats individually. He stated that Naidu did not have the guts to say that he would fight alone without alliances. He explained that the Rythu Bharosa programme, started on October 15, 2019, was continuing uninterruptedly but Chandrababu Naidu failed to fulfil his poll promises including agriculture loan waiver. He claimed that Jagan Mohan Reddy government also provided an assistance of Rs.13,500 annually to tenant farmers belonging to SCs, STs, BCs, minorities and farmers cultivating forest lands under the Forest Act, which was absent in the previous government. He claimed that since the inception of the scheme, Rs. 27,062 crore had been provided under Rythu Bharosa.

“Naidu said many times that the financial condition of the State deteriorated due to the implementation of welfare schemes by Jagan.

Did Naidu ever introduce new schemes other than copying the old ones? Chandrababu never thought of welfare schemes like Navaratnalu, Amma Vodi, Cheyutha, Chedodu, Netanna Nestham, Kapu Nestham, Vidya Deevena, Vasathi Deevena and others. We have the courage to say what we have done. We are challenging that we will compete alone in 175 seats,” the minister said.

Minister Govardhan Reddy also wondered whether any party would dare say that they would contest alone in 175 seats. He recalled that TD contested alone only in 2019 as other parties were reluctant to form an alliance with that party due to the ‘use and throw’ policy of Naidu. He explained that TD contested elections in alliance with Sanjay Vicharmanch, BJP, Left parties, BRS, Jana Sena and the Congress.
