‘Kalyanamastu’, ‘Shaadi Tofa’ dole today

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will release funds for ‘YSR Kalyanamastu’ and ‘YSR Shaadi Tofa’ financial assistance schemes by pressing a button today (Friday) in the CM Camp Office at Tadepalli. The officials said that the eligible 4,536 beneficiaries who got married during October – December 2022 quarter will get Rs 38.18 crore in financial assistance which will be deposited in their accounts today by CM Jagan.

To support poor parents to educate their children and conduct their marriage honourably and fulfill their social responsibility, CM Jagan is providing financial assistance to girls from the families of SC, ST, BC, minorities, disabled, construction workers through YSR Kalyanamastu and to the girls of Muslim minority communities through YSR Shaadi Tofa.

The officials said that ‘YSR Kalyanamastu’ and ‘YSR Shaadi Tofa’ aim to promote children’s education, prevent child marriage, increase school enrollment and reduce the dropout rate.
The beneficiary bride and her groom must have passed the 10th standard.

Jagan Government has decided that the age of the bride must be 18 years and the age of the groom must be 21 years by the date of marriage.

In order to make marriages in the homes of the poor feel happy, the financial assistance provided by the previous government is almost doubled. The financial aid promised by the previous government to the SCs was Rs 40,000 which has been increased under YSR Kalyanamastu and YSR Shaadi Tofa is Rs 1,00,000. The earlier financial assistance to SCs (inter-caste marriages) was Rs 75,000 and it was increased to Rs 1,20,000 by CM Jagan.

The previous financial aid to the STs was Rs. 50,000 and CM Jagan increased it to Rs. 1,00,000. The financial assistance to STs (inter-caste marriage) was Rs. 75,000 and it was hiked by the Jagan government to Rs. 1,20,000. The financial aid to the BCs was Rs. 35,000 and this government increased to Rs. 50,000. BC (inter-caste marriage) financial assistance was Rs. 50,000 which was hiked by CM Jagan to Rs. 75,000. The financial assistance that the minorities received was Rs. 50,000 and it was increased to Rs. 1,00,000.

The financial assistance to differently-abled was Rs 1,00,000 and CM Jagan offered Rs 1,50,000 and to building and other construction workers was Rs. 20,000 which is increased to Rs 40,000.

The selection of beneficiaries once every quarter under which the bride and groom should apply in their nearest village and ward secretariats within 30 days of marriage, the concerned authorities will field verify the details and provide financial assistance to the eligible beneficiaries for the respective quarters in February, May, August and November every year.
