Tamil actor Suriya has been a popular actor among the Telugu audiences, making his film get released in Telugu. Now, the actor is currently promoting his upcoming film Kanguva vigorously, which is set to be released on November 14. The actor was in Mumbai the other day and is now back in the city. The actor feels that ‘Kanguva’ is a very prestigious project for him. Directed by Siva, this film is a significant period action drama featuring Disha Patani and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles. KE Gnanavel Raja, Vamsi and Pramod are the producers.
Director Siva first entered the film industry with a Telugu movie called “Souryam” in 2008 before moving on to direct more Telugu films. Following that, he transitioned to working in Tamil films and made several before being given the chance to direct the high-budget film ‘Kanguva’ with Suriya. He mentioned that being in Hyderabad after a long time always brings him a good feeling.
“I made ‘Kanguva’ with immense passion alongside an extraordinary actor like Suriya. We started the script with the concept of creating a period film based on the conflicts among five tribes from less than a thousand years ago. This story has been shot on a grand scale with high production values,” said Siva. He added that top director SS Rajamouli is a big inspiration to him because he has shown to elevate South Indian cinema. “I remade Rajamoulis ‘Vikramarkudu’ in Tamil as ‘Siruthai,’ and that film holds a special place for me,” said Siva.
Actor Suriya thanked his fans and also appreciated all the partners involved in releasing ‘Kanguva’. “It’s been two years since my last theatrical release, but I was incredibly touched by the response to the re-release of ‘Surya Son of Krishnan.’ I created ‘Kanguva’ to provide you with a remarkable cinematic experience as a token of gratitude for your support. It took us two and a half years to craft a unique film unlike anything you’ve seen before, made possible by director Siva’s passion,” said Suriya about the film.
The actor said director Rajamouli is a big inspiration for him making films like ‘Kanguva’. “Kanguva’ is a straight Telugu movie rooted in Indian cinema. This is not just a film about a warrior; it’s about a warrior who fights for his people and the dharma he believes in,” said Suriya. The actor is also appearing on Balakrishna’s talk show ‘Unstoppable’. “Participating in ‘Unstoppable’ show was an unforgettable experience. Witnessing Balakrishna’s punctuality, hard work, and passion made me realize why he has reached such great heights,” said Suriya about Balakrishna.
The actor said that great movies can bring significant change to society. “For instance, someone became an IPS officer after watching ‘Kaakha Kaakha’, and following the release of ‘Jai Bhim’, 300,000 people in Tamil Nadu received house, ration cards and all the necessary facilities,” said Suriya. He added that for this ‘Kanguva’, 3,000 people worked every day, and it is through everyone’s hard work that this remarkable film has come to fruition.
