‘Kaushal’ a great platform for rural students: Governor

Governor Biswabusan Harichandan has said that the Kaushal competition serves as a great platform to bring out the hidden talents of rural students. He said that Vijnana Bharati had been patronised by great Indian scientists like Dr Raghunath Mashelkar, former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Dr Anil Kakodkar and many others.

Delivering his message as chief guest at the State-level ‘Kaushal-2022’ award ceremony held at the School of Planning & Architecture auditorium here on Friday, the Governor recalled the slogan ‘Jai Jawan- Jai Kisan’ coined by former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, that ushered in the Green Revolution, ‘Jai Vignan’ slogan given by Late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee after the conduct of the landmark Pokhran nuclear test and ‘Jai Anusandhan’ slogan given by present Prime Minister Narendra Modi, by orienting the country towards Atma Nirbhar Bharat.

The State-level Kaushal competition was organised by Vijnana Bharati, Andhra Pradesh chapter of Bharatiya Vijnana Mandali and the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Science and Technology. The competition was conducted exclusively for students of government schools and 55,012 students from 2,431 schools from all 26 districts participated. The Governor presented the awards to the winners and congratulated the students for their active participation in the competition.

RP Sisodia, Special Chief Secretary to Governor; S Suresh Kumar, Commissioner of School Education; PS Avadhani, president, Bharatiya Vijnan Mandali; Prof S Ramesh, Director of School of Planning & Architecture; Dr Y Sreenivas Rao, Director, NSTL; KS Sastry, National Governing Council member, Vignana Bharati, and Prof Kailasa Rao, vice-president, Vijnana Bharati, were among the dignitaries who attended the programme.
