BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha has questioned the Congress government as to what is the need to take applications from the Asara pension beneficiaries again. Kavitha demanded that the government give Rs 4,000 pension to the pensioners from January 1.
Kavitha said that as part of the Gruha Jyothi scheme, the Congress government has announced that there is no need to pay the bill for the electricity consumption of less than 200 units. So, those who have received bills for the electricity consumed within 200 units should not pay the bill.
Speaking to the media at Nizamabad on Wednesday, Kavitha mentioned that the Congress leaders are saying on behalf of the government that there is no need to pay electricity bills. The announcement came from the Congress party, so people were asked to take advantage of that opportunity.
CM A Revanth Reddy said that in order to get welfare schemes, they have to apply, and people are expressing doubts on two to three points in this order. In all, 44 lakh people are already getting Rs 2,000 pension in the State.
She asked why they are asking for applications again without increasing it though there is a possibility of increasing it to Rs 4,000. She asked the government to tell why it is bringing the situation to make the people stand in lines again in Telangana villages.
She opined that asking for re-applications will cause inconvenience to people. She criticised the Chief Minister’s statement that schemes will be given only to existing ration cards. She said that if the schemes are implemented after the new cards are issued, everyone will benefit on a large scale. So she said it would be better if applications for ration cards are received quickly, cards are issued and schemes are given.
She suggested that there is a discussion in the villages as to why the money of Rythu Bandhu has not been deposited in the accounts of the farmers and the government should respond positively to this. She said that the Congress party has promised to give Rs.4,000 unemployment benefit and there is also a discussion as to why they are not receiving applications for it.
