BRS MLC Kalwakuntla Kavita on Saturday offered jaggery to Sammakka-Saralamma equivalent to the weight of former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao through T App Folio.
She described the event as the biggest tribal fair in India.
KCR said that the protaganists of Telangana derived inspiration from the festival to uphold their self-respect. The Godavari valley region, which was once regarded as disturbed area under the rule of the combined Anahra Pradesh rulers, is now a fertile valley with availability of water for irrigation. He appealed to the State government to provide all amenities to devotees visiting Medaram from all parts of the country. He prayed to the deities for the prosperity and happiness of the people of Telangana.
Meanwhile, the forest deities who left the forest on February 21 and 22 to reach the elevated platforms gave darshan to the people till February 23.

All roads led to Medaram. Former minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao had faced the ire of the people waiting in serpentine queues as he tried to have quick darshan of the deity as a VIP.
