Former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao suffered a hip fracture after a fall at his farmhouse in Erravalli. Later, he was admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad.
The incident happened late on Thursday night. Doctors at the Yashoda Hospital in Somajiguda are examining the BRS President and evaluating the course of treatment.
According to a medical bulletin released by the hospital, KCR slipped and fell in his bathroom at his residence and was brought to the Somajiguda Yashoda Hospital.
The medical bulletin said that KCR underwent a planned operation named, Total Hip Replacement. The surgery was performed by Yashoda Hospital’s team of orthopaeadic surgeons, anesthesiologists and nurses.
KCR tolerated the surgery well and was stable haemodynamically throughout the procedure.
KCR was shifted to his room after he successfully underwent surgery and is now recuperating. He is receiving routine post-operative care including IV fluids, antibiotics and pain medication.
“The plan for ambulation, physiotherapy and nutrition will be designed based on the assessment on Saturday. The usual course of recovery is expected to be six to eight weeks,” doctors said.
Modi said in a tweet, “Distressed to know that former Telangana CM KCR Garu has suffered an injury. I pray for his speedy recovery and good health.”
KTR thanked all those who have been sending messages for KCR’s speedy recovery. Meanwhile, as per the direction of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the Secretary of the health, medical and family welfare department visited the hospital to enquire about KCR’s health.
The secretary talked to the doctors and the management of the hospital who said that the former Chief Minister had suffered a hip fracture due to a fall and that he is stable now.
According to an official statement, the secretary conveyed to the management of the hospital that the best possible care should be provided to the former Chief Minister.
After his visit to the hospital, the secretary briefed the CM who directed him to continue to monitor the treatment given to the former Chief Minister closely and to keep him updated.
According to the statement, KCR fell down at home and was brought to the hospital. During KCR’s transit from his residence to the hospital the police ensured a green channel.
KCR had been staying at his farmhouse in Erravalli in Siddipet district after the BRS lost to the Congress on December 3.
