KCR hails the contributions of bureaucrats

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao called out the names of officials and thanked their contributions. He covered IAS, IPS, IFS and retired bureaucrats and said that the reconstruction of Telangana was possible only due to their efforts.

He started off by praising Irrigation Secretary Rajat Kumar for the engineering marvel Kaleshwaram Project.

This was followed by the increase in the green cover for which the CM acknowledged the contributions of former PCCF Shoba and now Dobriyal, his OSD Bhupal Reddy and Priyanka Varghese, because of whom Telangana has set an all-time record in the country in raising forests.

Referring to the demolition of old buildings KCR said, “For instance, we demolished the old collectorate of Warangal. The then Warangal collector Karuna (Vakati) is sitting in front of me. If you see the old and new collectorates you will know the difference.”

The CM was all praise for Jayesh Ranjan and said, “In IT industry under our Jayesh Ranjan who is seated right in front of me Hyderabad is now overtaking Bengaluru.”

On law and order, the CM hailed former DGPs and said, “Anurag Sharma and Mahender Reddy are not in service now. But I should recollect their services. The current DGP Anjani Kumar has maintained law and order and has prevented communal violence in the last 10 years. The SHE teams under Swati Lakhra are giving the assurance of security to women. The Telangana Police have become the role model of the country.”

On per capita income and per capita power consumption, KCR said, “Under Ramakrishna Rao who has been secretary since the formation of Telangana, strict fiscal discipline is being followed and we became the topper in per capita terms.”

He also mentioned the services of R&B ENC Ganapathi Reddy, SE Satyanarayana and other officials of the R&B department.

Speaking about the contributions of Somesh Kumar KCR said, “Today even though he is not among us, during the construction of the secretariat he played an active role. Former Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar also, I would like to thank him.”

He thanked CS Santhi Kumari who spoke on behalf of the employees.

The CM said that collectors and SPs are taking up administrative reforms in 33 districts.
