Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on the BRS and the BJP while addressing the Praja Palana–Pragati Baata public meeting in Narayanpet on Friday.
He accused KCR of neglecting Palamuru for a decade and blocking critical irrigation projects like the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme.
Revanth asked why the Palamuru region had remained dry under BRS rule and blamed KCR for abandoning projects that could have transformed the district’s agricultural landscape.
“Who stopped KCR from completing the Palamuru project in the last 10 years? Why was the Makthal-Narayanpet-Kodangal project scrapped? Just because I fought for it?” he asked, accusing BRS of deliberately stalling the region’s development.
The Chief Minister said that KCR helped YS Rajasekhara Reddy to divert Krishna waters to Rayalaseema and later remained silent when Jagan Mohan Reddy continued the practice.
“KCR and Harish were irrigation ministers for 10 years. If Telangana lost Krishna waters, who else is responsible?” he asked, accusing the KCR family of receiving kickbacks for allowing the diversions.
Throwing an open challenge, Revanth dared the BJP and the BRS for a debate on governance records. “I am ready to debate 12 years of Modi’s rule, 10 years of BRS and 12 months of Congress governance. Will Kishan Reddy and Sanjay represent the BJP? Will KCR come or send his son and nephew?” he challenged.
The Chief Minister slammed Modi for failing to fulfil promises, reminding people of the unfulfilled commitments of depositing black money into citizens’ accounts, doubling farmers’ income, and providing housing for all by 2022. “The only jobs Modi gave were to Kishan Reddy and Sanjay,” he said.
Listing his government’s achievements, Revanth said the Congress provided 55,000 jobs, allocated five lakh Indiramma houses per year, and empowered women through Amma Adarsh Schools and RTC bus management.
“We conducted the BC caste census and addressed the SC categorisation issue pending for 30 years. KCR pretends he can’t see all this,” he said.
The CM also dared BRS to contest elections in villages where Indiramma houses are being built, promising that Congress would fight in areas where the BRS constructed 2BHK homes.
Asserting his commitment to Palamuru’s development, Revanth assured compensation for all displaced families and the completion of the Uddandapur project. “Some people are conspiring against us, but the people should teach them a lesson,” he said, urging public support to safeguard his government’s work.
Revanth concluded by appealing to the people of Palamuru to stand with him. “It is my responsibility to develop Palamuru, and it is your responsibility to protect me,” he said.
