KCR hikes sanitation workers’ salary by Rs 1,000

As a May Day gift, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao decided to hike the wages of 1,06,474 sanitation workers across the state by Rs 1,000 per month.

Apart from the GHMC and Metro Water Works, all sanitation workers working in municipal corporations, municipalities and panchayats will receive the hiked salaries. The CM said that the increase in wages will be implemented immediately.

The CM said that the government is committed to their welfare and recognises the efforts and sacrifices of sanitation workers after the formation of Telangana state with the slogan ‘Safai Anna Neeku Salaam Anna.’

He said that the government is committed to the welfare of every single worker in the state. The CM said that it has been decided to increase the salaries of TSRTC employees and the Finance Department has been directed to take appropriate measures.

He said that the efforts of sanitation workers are significant in developing Telangana villages and towns. The CM said that their efforts are hidden behind the awards given to our villages and towns at the national and international levels.

The CM said that there is a clear difference between the past and present conditions in villages and towns. Knowing the hardships of the workers, the state government responded by increasing their salaries from time to time and stood by them, he said.

The CM said that he was happy that sanitation workers are participating in the state’s development.
