In a significant political development, BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Friday confirmed that she had indeed written a letter to party president K Chandrashekar Rao two weeks ago and expressed dismay over its leak to the public. Speaking to media at the Shamshabad Airport upon returning from her son’s graduation ceremony abroad, Kavitha said the timing and manner in which the letter surfaced had caused unnecessary turmoil.

“I wrote the letter to KCR garu two weeks ago. I have done so many times before to share my opinions. But the fact that this letter got leaked after I left the country suggests that something deeper is going on. It’s time for all of us within the party to reflect,” she said, adding that what she expressed in the letter is what many BRS leaders and even half of Telangana’s people have been thinking.

Kavitha denied having any personal agenda. “I harbour neither hatred nor affection towards any individual. This letter was written with no personal agenda,” she said. While maintaining respect for her father and party chief KCR, Kavitha said the fact that even a letter from the party founder’s daughter got leaked raises troubling questions. “There are converts in the party. If this is what happens to me, imagine the plight of ordinary workers in the party,” she remarked.

She accused certain individuals surrounding KCR of causing damage to the party. “KCR is a God, but there are devils around him. The party must seriously think about who benefits from such leaks,” she stated.

Kavitha clarified that her letter contained nothing out of the ordinary. “There’s nothing controversial in what I wrote. It’s sad that the letter was leaked. Now, Congress and BJP are celebrating as if they’ve found a jackpot,” she said. She reiterated her unwavering belief in KCR’s leadership and vision for Telangana, asserting that the party can move forward by addressing internal flaws and removing covert saboteurs.

“Congress and BJP have failed the people. KCR is the only alternative. If we correct small mistakes and move forward with unity, BRS will continue to thrive for decades,” she concluded.
