Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao came down heavily on the Narendra Modi-led Union government’s policies and initiatives, especially ‘Make in India’ and privatisation of PSUs, at a public meeting in Jagityal on Tuesday.

KCR said, “In the name of NPAs, Rs 14 lakh crore was waived and looted for others. Why is the Centre selling Rs 35 lakh crore assets of LIC? Is the Centre working for the welfare of investors or poor? It is not ‘Sab ka saath,  Sab ka vikas’; it is ‘Sab ka bakwas’ .”

KCR said he was ready for a debate on ‘Make in India’ anywhere across the country. He remarked: “10,000 industries have shut down, 50 lakh people have lost jobs, and 10,000 investors are leaving every year. Chinese bazaars are mushrooming and flourishing in the country. If there are China bazaars all over, where are Indian bazaars? Is Make in India about China bazaars?”

KCR warned that the country would go back 100 years. He observed: “We fought for Telangana for over 60 years due to the mistake made by the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh leadership in the past. Let us not make the same mistake again.”

KCR quoted portions of Seshappa kavi’s poem on Dharmapuri Narsimhaswamy shrine. KCR pointed out that flood canals had been developed in Karimnagar. He announced sops for the development of Assembly constituencies. He announced the sanction of Rs.100 crore for the development of the Kondagattu Devasthanam. He announced special funds totaling Rs.10 crore each for the development of constituencies in Jagityala and Karimnagar districts.

Mentioning that money under the Rythu Bandhu scheme would be credited in the next 10-15days, KCR said: “Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bhima would not stop as long as I am alive. Except Telangana, there is no state or country giving Rythu Bandhu.” KCR cautioned people to be vigilant against ‘external forces conspiring to create trouble in Telangana’.

Several people were reportedly stuck due to traffic jams stretching to several kilometers on roads leading to Jagityal. As per reports, three times more people were stranded outside the venue of the public meeting. The public meeting at Jagityal reflected Pragathi Jaitrayatra.

People welcomed KCR all along the route during his visit. The public meeting echoed with slogans in support of KCR.  The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of Kondagattu Anjanna and Dharmapuri Narsanna temples. KCR ended his speech by chanting “Jai Telangana, Jai Bharat.”
