Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday predicted that a coalition government would be formed at the Centre after the 2024 General Election. He addressed meetings at Bodhan, Nizamabad, Yellareddypet, and Medak constituencies.
At Nizamabad, KCR said: “The Congress cheated Telangana for more than 50 years and the BJP is not releasing funds now. Permissions were not given to new projects and the Krishna water sharing issues are pending. The Congress and the BJP are useless for Telangana. After 2024 polls, there will be a coalition government in the country. In the coming days, regional parties will play key roles at the national level. We should show our strength.”
KCR alleged that the Congress used Muslims only as a vote bank. “It does drama. It is talking of closing down ‘nafrat ki dukan’. I am asking who demolished Babri Masjid? If you are secular, you should always be secular and your work should prove this,” KCR said.
At Yellareddy constituency, KCR said, “I am contesting from Kamareddy because the constituency needs more development. I am going to provide wonderful development to Kamareddy and Yellareddy as twin constituencies. I will make you proud that our Kamareddy and Yellareddy constituencies will become number one in every field, including infrastructure. I am the de facto MLA of Yellareddy constituency too.”
Addressing a gathering at Medak, KCR compared Mynampally Rohit, son of Mynampally Hanumanth Rao to a scarecrow with apotropaic properties. He said the Congress had pitched “a dishti bomma” against Padma Devender Reddy. At Medak, KCR said that politics was “not time pass or joke and needs to be taken seriously”.
The Chief Minister slammed BJP for dividing people in the name of religion. The BRS leader said the BJP government at the Centre was doing grave injustice to Telangana. Telangana remained an example of communal harmony for the last 10 years, he said. There was not a single riot and curfew was not imposed anywhere, he pointed out. He recalled that in the past, under the Congress rule, there used to be frequent communal riots. “As long as KCR is alive, Telangana will remain secular,” he said while claiming that his government had maintained peace with law and order fully under control for the last 10 years. He said that the government was working for the welfare of all without any discrimination on the basis of religion or caste.
While the Congress spent only Rs 2,000 crore on welfare of minorities during the 10-year rule before the formation of Telangana State, the BRS government had spent Rs 12,000 crore during the last 10 years. The BRS leader listed out the measures taken for the welfare of minorities and promised to undertake additional measures.
KCR said Telangana had achieved progress in all sectors during the BRS rule. At the time of the formation of the state, it ranked 19th or 20th in terms of per capita income. But now it had become number one. Claiming that Telangana was number one in welfare, he appealed to people to cast their vote after looking at the development that the state had achieved during the last 10 years.
