Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said that temples are community centres and that all religions connect with temples.
“Religious fanaticism is a threat. Religion does not encourage us to commit offences. But religious stupidity makes human beings mad and it makes humans commit inhuman acts. There is no place for violence in any religion. But religion is the cause of violence in many places. Lord Krishna did not speak about violence,” KCR said.
Addressing the gathering after performing ‘Bhumi Puja’ for the Hare Krishna Heritage Towers on Monday, KCR said, “God blesses humans in many ways. Language, sense, country and continent may be different. But worshipping God is a continuous affair from the beginning of human civilisation.”
KCR said that the support of the Hare Krishna movement for the Telangana government was commendable. Akshaya Patra is supplying meals through Annapoorna to schoolchildren and providing food for the poor in Hyderabad.
He said whenever there are problems Hare Krishna Sansthan will be the first to help. Hare Krishna Sansthan should also work hard to check evil that can erupt in the name of religion. Those who sincerely believe in religion never want violence. “We perform yajnas seeking peace,” KCR said.
“We are conducting Yagams for world peace. We are facing diseases. Bhakti (Devotion), bhajans (Prayers) and kirtans conducted in temples give peace to man,” he said.
“I am announcing a grant of Rs 25 crore on behalf of the state government for the construction of the Hare Krishna temple,” KCR said.
The Yadagirigutta Temple built magnificently is getting compliments everywhere, KCR said. “Similarly, we are also developing Vemulawada, Kondagattu and Kaleshwaram temples,” he said.
The CM wanted the construction of the temple to be completed soon and thanked the Hare Krishna movement for inviting him.
The Hare Krishna Heritage Tower will be constructed at a cost of Rs 200 crore on six acres at Narsingi and will have a height of 120 meters.
The tower will be another landmark in Hyderabad. Accommodation will be available for 1,500 devotees. Construction will be undertaken using cutting-edge technology as per the cultural heritage of Telangana.
The tower will have a library, marriage auditorium, IMAX open air theatres, lecture halls, Q complex and guest rooms.
The history of Lord Krishna along with his teachings and technologically advanced laser shows will also be provided.
Earlier, KCR attended the Bhumi Puja function of the Hare Krishna Heritage Tower in Kokapet. The CM was accorded a warm welcome by the Hare Krishna Sansthan. The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone in a traditional ceremony and a stone plaque on the Bhoomi Puja was unveiled on stage.
The founders of the Hare Krishna Movement paid floral tributes to the statue of the late Lord Srila Prabhupada. They also participated in the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Kalyanotsavam too.
