BRS President Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has been frequently saying that the schemes he implemented in Telangana should be implemented throughout the country.
The BRS is pinning its hopes on the schemes it has implemented in TS and is confident that it will enable it to score a hat-trick in the Telangana Assembly elections.
But before the Telangana Assembly elections, KCR’s schemes like Rythu Bandhu and others are going to be tested in the Karnataka Assembly elections scheduled for May 10.
BRS leaders have been saying that Telangana’s schemes are a role model for the nation. But how the people of other states will respond to Telangana’s schemes will be known in the Karnataka elections.
Janata Dal (Secular) leader HD Kumaraswamy has announced that he will implement Telangana schemes if voted to power. Before releasing the JD (S) manifesto Kumaraswamy announced 12 schemes.
The Janata Dal (S) and the BRS have good relations. Even though the BRS is not contesting in the Karnataka Assembly elections the Telangana BRS government’s schemes are in the public domain through the Janata Dal (S).
In Karnataka, there are significant numbers of Telugus in the state’s eastern districts. How the people of Karnataka and the Telugus settled in Karnataka will react to Telangana’s schemes will be known in the Karnataka elections.
BRS leaders think that the Karnataka elections will be a pointer to how the people of other states will respond to Telangana schemes.
There are sizable numbers of Telugus in Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Bellary, Koppal, Chikballapur, Kolar, Raichur and Tumkur areas. If the people of Karnataka and the Telugus respond positively to Telangana’s schemes, the Janata Dal (S) will win a good number of seats.
In Karnataka, the main fight is between the BJP and the Congress. The Janata Dal (S) is third in the electoral rankings. If Telangana’s schemes will help the Janata Dal (S) to win a sizable number of seats it may emerge as the kingmaker.
