Mahabubnagar district will be developed as a major tourist hub and a number of major industries, including Amara Raja’s lithium-ion battery gigafactory, will be set up in the coming three to four years, according to Minister for Tourism and Culture V Srinivas Goud.
Speaking, shortly after laying the foundation stone for a budget hotel (economy hotel), to be built at a cost of Rs 50 crore on the premises of the Old Collectorate, the Minister said that four major industries, would be set up in the district, would provide employment to 30,000 youth.
“People used to look down upon Mahabubnagar district in the past. Now, the district is attracting the attention of everyone as it has made rapid strides towards progress. We will develop Mahabubnagar into a model district in a way that surprises everyone,” Srinivas Goud said.
The development of Mahabubnagar district became possible with Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao granting funds and coordinated efforts of people’s representatives and officials, he said.
Minister for Information Technology K T Rama would inaugurate the IT tower on May 6. It would help provide thousands of jobs for the youth in the coming years. It would also help contribute to the growth of business in the district, the Minister pointed out. He said that construction work on the super-specialty hospital, which is being built on the premises of the Old Collectorate, is moving at a brisk pace. The hospital, when completed, would provide global-level medical service would be provided, Srinivas Goud said.
The Minister directed the officials to lay a road from IT Tower to Mahabubnagar town. Jadcharla and Bhoothpur would be merged into Mahabubnagar in future, he said.
State Tourism Development Corporation chairman G Srinivas Yadav, District Collector G Ravi Nayak and others were present.
