Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has not yet personally to the comments of TPCC President Revanth Reddy on ‘free power’ and has been maintaining silence on the issue.
It is learnt that KCR may respond on the issue at the meeting being held in Suryapet on July 24, that is, the day he is scheduled to inaugurate the offices of the Collector and the SP, the medical college, the integrated market and the BRS office.

KCR may respond in the manner he responded to the Congress criticism about the Dharani Portal.

Meanwhile, IT Minister KT Ramarao and Finance Minister T. Harish Rao have been trying to use Revanth’s comments on the free power issue.

It is learnt that the free power issue will help the BRS to assess the public pulse, particularly that of farmers. It is learnt that KCR has been observing the performance of his son KTR, nephew Harish Rao and that of other Ministers, MLAs, MPs, MLCs and other leaders in attacking Revanth.

Both KTR and Harish have been leading the BRS attack on Revanth. BRS leaders including Ministers, MLAs, MPs, MLCs and other BRS public representatives have launched a scathing attack on the Congress and Revanth.

Moreover, KTR, who is also the BRS Working President, gave a call to BRS leaders to organise meetings from July 17 for 10 days at all Rythu Vedikas across the state with at least 1,000 farmers.

KTR asked the leaders to tell farmers that the free power supply scheme will be scrapped if the Congress comes to power.

He directed BRS MLAs to take responsibility for organising these meetings.

He also directed BRS leaders to pass a resolution at the meetings condemning the comments of the Congress and another resolution asking the Congress to apologise.

This decision made it clear that the BRS will use Revanth’s comments to attack the Congress. The BRS is also launching a 10-day programme at Rythu Vedikas with farmers after its Athmeya Sammelans, Telangana Formation Day celebrations and other programmes.

One BRS leader said that Revanth gave a good chance to the BRS to demoralise the Congress.

“Why should we let go of the chance as our leader has been giving 24-hour free power supply to farmers? No need for KCR to tackle Revanth as KTR and Harish are more than enough,” he said.

In fact, it is learnt that the BRS will continue to use the issue till elections and also launch programmes to keep its leaders active among the public.
