Kerala State municipal team visits GHMC

A team of 58 members of mayors and municipal chairman of Kerala State came to Hyderabad on Monday to study the best practices being implemented in the GHMC. On this occasion, Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi said that the GHMC is taking steps to make Hyderabad a green and clean city.
Vijayalakshmi said, “For the development of Hyderabad city, steps have been taken to make it a clean and green city, along with increasing greenery, town planning, and we are achieving good results.”
Solid waste management project, door-to-door garbage collection, construction and demolition (C&D) waste processing plants, waste recycling material, etc. were explained through a power-point presentations.
GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose said that every day 7,500 metric tons of garbage collection is done from every house in the city by Swachh autos, and moved to Jawahar Nagar dump yard, and vermicompost is made with that also. The GHMC is preparing another dump yard in Pyara Nagar.
