Union Minister G Kishan Reddy watched the film Jithender Reddy at a multiplex in Hyderabad. He commended actor Rakesh Varre, who portrayed the title role, and director Virinchi Varma for creating a meaningful film. “Jithender Reddy and I worked together in the BJP Yuva Morcha,” Kishan Reddy said, recalling memories with his late friend. “He was an active leader of RSS and ABVP. He organised the meeting of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Warangal, arranging 50 buses from the Jagtial area to make the event a success.”
The Union Minister went on to highlight Jithender Reddy’s dedication to helping the poor and uniting people. “Naxalites killed Jithender Reddy, firing 72 bullets into his body. His efforts showed that violence cannot achieve what peaceful means can,” said Reddy. “This movie emphasises that it is a mistake to believe that guns and violence can achieve meaningful goals; it’s a mindset that must change.”
Praising the film, Kishan Reddy noted, “Rakesh Varre truly embodied the role of Jithender Reddy with remarkable acting. I also appreciate director Virinchi Varma for his excellent work in making this film.” Jithender Reddy, based on true events in Jagtial, Telangana, was released on November 8.
