Former minister Kodali Srivenkateswara Rao (Nani) has come down heavily on TDP chief Nara Chandrababu and his son Nara Lokesh. Nani alleged that as there was no proper response to Lokesh’s ongoing padayatra, Chandrababu was going mad and criticising the ruling party. Nani expressed anger over Chandrababu and Lokesh foul-mouting and insulting Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy personally.

Nani said that CM Jagan was a leader with guts and the son of Rayalaseema, who did not care for Sonia Gandhi, took up padayatra and became the chief minister of AP. He said that Chandrababu was the ‘brand ambisador’ of the drought-ridden AP. During his 14 years as CM, not a single irrigation project was completed and every year there was deficit rainfall.

To overcome the drought situation during Chandrababu’s rule, River Godavari waters were lifted through motors and sent to Krishna River through interlinking of rivers. Nani further said that Chandrababu was also the ‘brand ambassador of backstabbing. Naidu, who had just two acres of agricultural land, now has money worth lakhs of crores of rupees. He earned so much wealth only through backstabbing politics, said Nani and added that Chandrababu was also the emperor of corruption.

Nani recalled that in the 2014 election manifesto, the TDP led by Chandrababu promised to clear all the debts of farmers to the tune of Rs 87,000 crore and finally cleared a meagre amount of Rs 7,200 crore deceiving the poor farmers. In 1997, Naidu had said that agriculture was a waste of time. One should shun agriculture and shift to other fields, he had said.

Nani alleged that with old age, Chandrababu became mindless of what he spoke at public meetings. Nani also criticised TDP leader Ayyana Patrudu for foul mouthing and criticising CM Jagan and the YSRCP leaders. Nani warned the TDP leaders to mind their language.
