Reiterating that welfare and development are two eyes of the YSRCP government, ruling party MLC Dokka Manikya Varaprasad has stated that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has succeeded in converting Andhra Pradesh into an investment hub and a shining example of India’s development.
During a media interaction in Guntur on Friday, Varaprasad shared, “After Jagan Mohan Reddy took charge as CM, our State has moved ahead industrially and economically by attracting the highest investments in the country. In the Financial Year 2021-22, Andhra Pradesh was the fastest-growing economy in the country with a GSDP of 11.43 per cent, which was higher than the country’s 8.7 per cent GDP growth rate during that year.
“In comparison, the growth rate during the previous TDP regime was 5.36 per cent in 2018-19. Now it has risen to 11.43 per cent,” the MLC said.
Sharing data from the Centre on investments during the current YSRCP government, the MLC said, “According to the Department for Promotion of Industry (DPIIT) report, by the end of July 2022, India received industrial investments of Rs 1,71,285 crore, in which our State stood at the top attracting investments worth Rs 40,361 crore. Compared to other States in India, AP is ranked fifth in attracting investments and third in setting up industrial enterprises.”
Expressing satisfaction with the investment policies of the State, Manikya Prasad said that Andhra Pradesh had been ranked first in the country in the Ease of Doing Business index ever since the YSRCP government came to power. “In the last three-and-a-half years, IT companies including Infosys, HCL, Technotask, iGen, American Softwares, Techbull and Complex Systems, among others, have set up offices in Visakhapatnam and in Tier-II cities of the State,” the minister said.
Elaborating on CM Jagan’s commitment to develop Guntur, the MLC said, “More than 70 Urban Health Clinics have been set up, and existing 32 clinics have been upgraded in Guntur. Road extension works of the Perecherla-Kondamodu road of over 49.91 km have been expedited in both Guntur and Palnadu districts. Last week, the Guntur Zilla Parishad approved a budget of ?1,154.47 crore for the developmental works in the district. The State government has also sent a District Export Action Plan to boost the export of the famous Guntur Sannam Chilli to ?4,661 crore by 2025.”
The MLC again slammed the previous TDP government for their cheap publicity tricks. “The TDP government was very good at sharing animated graphics about the State and had ignored real development. YSRCP is for the development of the State. Recently, the JSW Group chairman shared that AP was the fastest-growing State in the past three years. The reason for the growth is the dedication and commitment of CM Jagan Mohan Reddy because he is committed to the uplift of the people of Andhra Pradesh.”
