Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy has called upon members of the Zilla Parishad to work hard unitedly for the development of Nalgonda district raising above the narrow and petty politics.
He was taking part in the Zilla Parishad general body meeting held here on Saturday as chief guest with the ZP chairman Banda Narender Reddy in chair.  The meeting discussed Mission Bhagiradha programme, agricultural prospects, electricity, education among other issues.
As the term of the present Zilla Parishad expires on July 4, the genera body was attended by all members without fail.
In his opening remarks, Banda Narender Reddy thanked the members for helping him conduct the ZP meetings without any hiccups during the past five years.
The Minister, taking part in discussion on Mission Bhagiradha, asked the engineering officials to undertake visits to villages to ensure that all households get tap water and identify problems in villages. Participating in the discussion held on agriculture, he said the state Cabinet approved to crop loan waiver crop up to Rs 31,000 crore. The government would take a decision on Rythu Bharosa soon. There was no precedent of any government waiving crop loans up to Rs 2 lakh, he claimed.
If anyone brings to the notice of the government about the overload on electric transformers, the officials would immediately resolve them, he said. He directed SE of the electricity department to send proposals for sanction of the additional budget.
Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresam noted that the district has enough fertilisers and seeds and wanted the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies should prepare the proposals beforehand to rule out any problems that may surface subsequently.
