AP Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranth, along with an AP delegation, met various stakeholders in Daegu, Republic of Korea, and discussed various issues related to investments in AP State. They visited Korea Textile Development Institute (KTDI), Yeungnam University and Korea Textile Machinery and Research Institute (KOTMI).
Korea Textile Development Institute (KTDI) represented by Ho Yo-seung, President of KTDI, Hong Sang-Gi, Team Leader, International Cooperation Division, Kwon Hee-boon, Senior Assistant, International Cooperation Division, Lee Jun-hee, Senior Assistant, International Cooperation Division and Kang Young-ah, Team Leader (Education Division), International Cooperation Division discussed investment opportunities in details. They explained the process of producing technology-based textile and education programmes being offered through the institute. KTDI has shown interest to collaborate with Andhra Pradesh to further the textile-based technology. Further KTDI has shown interest for Subject Matter Expert for the Textile Sector in Andhra Pradesh. A SPOC has been allocated for further communications.
Minister Rajendranth with his team conducted talks with Yeungnam University represented by Take-Dong Yeo, Vice President for International Affairs and Lee Joon Seok, Professor, Department of Textile Engineering & Technology, Engineering College, and interacted with the professors. The technical and vocational education programme models were discussed in detail. The Yeungnam University affirmed they are open for student exchange programs, Joint research projects and Faculty Development programme (FDP).
Minister Rajendranath interacted with the scholars and students from India and Andhra Pradesh, Indian Diaspora explained their development and thanked the FM for visiting the University.
During the meeting with Korea Textile Machinery and Research Institute (KOTMI), its representatives Lee Jung-ho Ph.D., Director, KOTMI and Joh, Seong-Hwan, Managing Director, Korea Textile Machinery Association (KOTMA) gave brief presentation on the machinery used in the manufacturing various textile related products. FM Rajendranath asked the details on the machinery and research that is happening in the institute and ways to collaborate with AP and KOTMA explained the advent of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, etc. in the textile production.
The FM has instructed the delegation to take necessary steps in materialising the collaboration with KOTMI which can help in transitioning from conventional textile production to advanced manufacturing.
