Host Krishna district junior boys and girls teams lifted the 8th Andhra Pradesh Junior (Under-19) Netball Championship held at the Mary Stella College in Vijayawada. Both boys’ and girls’ team players performed well and bagged first place respectively. The two-day 8th AP Junior Inter-District Netball Championship finished on Sunday.
In the girls’ section finals, the Krishna team won against its opponent East Godavari by 9-7 goals, while in the boys’ section finals, the Krishna district team beat East Godavari by 15-12 goals. However, Visakhapatnam and Kadapa teams secured third place in girls’ and boys’ respectively.
Later, the prize distribution function was held at Stella College and the college principal Dr Jasintha Quadras, RALC regional manager D Veerababu, cricket coach Kumara Swamy and others presented trophies to the winners, runners, and third-place teams.
Andhra Pradesh Netball Association secretary B Sivaram, NTR district president M Seshagiri Rao, secretary Abhishek, and NTR district secretary B Himabindu, Krishna, and others were present.
