Krishna dist best choice for setting up industries

Krishna District Collector P Ranjith Basha has said the district is the best choice for establishing industries and stated that they would give subsidies to those who set up industries in the district. He held a review meeting with the district industries and exports promotion members at his chamber in Machilipatnam on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector asserted that the district would be more developed in the coming days as the Machilipatnam port works were set to begin. “It is a great opportunity for establishing industries in Machilipatnam and surrounding areas,” he added.

He claimed that the district had all the facilities such as roads, water and others to establish industries. Besides, they will give single-window permissions for the industries, he said. Also, the district had industrial estates at Veerapanenigudem, Challapalli and Mallavalli.

Further, he said the entrepreneurs who wanted to set up industries would be given a 35 per cent of subsidy through the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) for Rs 50 lakh per unit. Under the Jagananna Badugu Vikasam schemes, industrialists will be bestowed with a 45 per cent of investment subsidy for establishing Transportation and Manufacturing units.

“The government is supporting industrialists. So far, the government has sanctioned Rs.1.81 crore to the 43 applicants. Unemployed people, entrepreneurs and the youth must utilise these schemes,” he added.

Industries General Manager R VenkatRao, APMSME Development Corporation Director Varalakshmi, MUDA VC Siva Narayana Reddy, DPO Nageswar Nayak, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Chandrayya and others were present.
