Krishna Madiga pays tributes to Ranga

Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) president Manda Krishna Madiga, AICC member Kolanukonda Sivaji, All India Kapu Association president Galla Subramanyam and other leaders paid rich tributes to former MLA Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga Rao on his 34th death anniversary.

At a programme organised in the Press Club here on Monday, the leaders paid tributes to VM Ranga by garlanding his portrait. Speaking on the occasion, Congress leader Kolanukonda Sivaji said that VM Ranga does not belong to a particular caste or a group but he belongs to all. He remembered his association with VM Ranga.Sivaji said that the admirers of VM Ranga appealed to the then TDP government to name after the Fly Over Bridge at Kanaka Durga temple of VM Ranga FOB but the government did not respond.

They also urged the present government to name the newly carved district after VM Ranga but did not, he regretted. Kolanukonda Sivaji appealed to the government to allocate a piece of land on the embankment of the river Krishna at Kanaka Durga Varadhi, where VM Ranga cremation took place, to construct a VM memorial by the followers of VM Ranga.

Sivaji said that they urged the government to name it after Kapu Videshi Vidya Pathakam of VM Ranga. MRPS president Manda Krishna Madiga recalled how VM Ranga served the poor and won his hearts. Though Ranga was eliminated physically, he is still in the hearts of lakhs of admirers and followers, Krishna Madiga said. All India Kapu Association president Galla Subramanyam also spoke. Koppula Venkat and Chennupati Srinivas were among those who were present.
