Minister for MA&UD K Taraka Ramarao said that Telangana has done way much better than any other states in India. Every district Per Capita Income (PCI) of Telangana today is higher than the national average. In all, 131 lakh acres of land was cultivated in 2014, but in 2023 it is 268 lakh acres, which is more than double. In 2014, the State was ranked 14th in paddy production but now it secured number one rank.
He gave a presentation on development of Telangana, named ‘Trailblazer Telangana’ on Thursday at Begumpet. He said, “We balance development and welfare. We have done in industries and environment, rural development and urban development, IT exports and agrarian yield. If any one denies it they can question me. Our model is inclusive, integrity, comprehensive and balanced development model. We have justified the tagline of Telangana movement, which is Neellu (water), Nidhulu (budget allocation) and Niyamakalu (employment)”.
In the 58 years rule of Congress RS 38,000 crore was spent on irrigation, but BRS has spent Rs 1.70 lakh crore in nine-and-a-half years. As per the National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB), the State has reduced the suicides of farmers drastically. State has developed every sector including the Blue revolution (Fisheries), White revolution (Milk), Pink Revolution (Meat) and Yellow revolution (Oil Palm).
He lashed out at opposition parties that if Congress has power, people don’t get power supply. Karnataka is facing this issue. Unlike previous governments, BRS provides quality and uninterrupted power supply to farmers, households and industries. Modi has put Rs five lakh of debt on every citizen. In 2014, India’s debt was Rs 56 lakh crore, but now it is Rs 114 lakh crore.
Don’t do politics on projects. Problems in barrages are common. Problems have also arisen in Prakasam, Dhavaleswaram and Kadem reservoirs. Two years ago Srisailam pumps also got waterlogged, he said.
“We have a vision towards Telangana. We are envisaging to expand the Metro line to 250 km, and in the next term will expand to 450 km in 10 years. On job creation, no state is better than Telangana in government job notifications. We have filled 1.5 lakh jobs,” he added.
