Minister for Information Technology KT Rama Rao on Tuesday deplored Opposition leaders for heaping criticism on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. He suggested that the Opposition may point out mistakes, if any, but using abusive language cannot be tolerated.
He was speaking at a meeting, shortly after unveiling the statue of Sardar Sarvail Papanna at Sarampalli under Thangallapalli mandal, the Minister pointed out that the Chief Minister ensured that a total of Rs 73,000 crore was credited into the accounts of farmers under Rythu Bandhu scheme.
He asked whether the Prime Minister or any Chief Minister deposited such a huge amount of money into the accounts of farmers. Apart from it, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government released Rs 6,000 crore for the farm loan waiver scheme. This was intended to fulfil the election promise.
KTR recalled that the Congress governments were unable to provide even adequate power and water to the farmers though it ruled the State for 59 years.
The BRS government has been introducing several welfare schemes and carrying out developmental activities to ensure that the State makes rapid progress.
He called upon people not to fall prey to false promises. He said that he had ensured the development of the Rajanna-Sircilla district. He vowed to further develop it.
Earlier, the Minister hoisted the national flag on the occasion of Independence Day at the District Collector here. He was welcomed by the Collector and officials. The Minister distributed certificates of appreciation to officials.
KTR said that the State made rapid progress during the last nine years. He asked the people to realise that the Telangana region lagged in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. The BJP-led Central government has been copying the schemes being implemented by the BRS government.
The Minister asserted that the State government has implemented the scheme which changed the face of the villages. He said that Mahatma Gandhi stressed the need to develop villages. The Telangana government has been has been implementing the scheme for the development of the village. The government has provided a tractor, trolley and funds for the development of villages, he said.
