In his reply to the notice issued regarding the sanction of Rs 55 crore towards the Formula E race mentioned that former Minister KTR BRS who was the competent authority then was kept informed at every stage of the agreement and deadlines and permission was taken.
“It is clarified that the competent authority, that is, the minister of the MAUD department, was kept informed at every stage and that the due permission was obtained from the competent authority, it is further clarified that the season 10 was not yet over and the legal action against the then promoter would have been initiated in accordance with relevant laws and its open for the state government to go ahead accordingly”, he said to the CS in reply to the memo
He said that no details were provided to him so far by HMDA or the office of MAUD dept. So he replied to the memo based on his memory. “In the absence of details, I am unable to provide the specific details and would thus replying based on my memory and the limited facts available with me,” Arvind said.
Regarding the question on why due permission was not take when the tripartite agreement was terminated by the FEO, Arvind said, “The then promoter has not cancelled his part of the contract officially till date.
However, as I understood, considering the net direct returns not in accordance with the Promoter’s expectations or what he had invested, they had not come forth till the time the agreement for season 10 was to be confirmed and first
instalment of fee paid by June 2023. Accordingly, Hyderabad was not in the calendar for season 10 when the FEO released the provisional calendar for season 10 on June 20 2023 due to non-confirmation for the same from the state government.”
