Kurnool woman killed in accident in USA

A 23-year-old girl, Kandula Jahnavi, of Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh died after she was hit by a police patrol vehicle in Seattle in the USA on Monday night. She was hit while walking near Dexter Avenue North and Thomas Street just after 8 p.m. on Monday.

According to reports, Jahnavi reportedly died at a hospital of multiple injuries. Officers performed CPR while waiting for the Seattle Fire Department medics to arrive. After medics rushed to the spot, they took over lifesaving measures and transported Jahnavi to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she died while undergoing treatment.

According to the Seattle Police, the driving officer was on a priority one call at the request of the Seattle Fire Department. Detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad took up an investigation.

Jahnavi is the elder daughter of Vijayalakshmi and Srikanth, who lived in MIG colony in Adoni. She completed her Bachelors in Computer Applications 2019 and worked with a software company in Bangalore for a couple of years. She later went to Seattle to pursue her Masters in Information Systems at Northeastern University in September 2021. She also worked as a part-timer at her campus as an administrative and event support assistant.
