Land resurvey to resolve disputes, check corruption

Minister for Revenue Dhamana Prasad Rao has said that the government has taken up the land resurvey process in order to resolve land disputes and resurvey is being conducted using the latest technology. The Minister addressed a revenue seminar in which the Collectors, Sub-collectors, RDOs, DROs and surveyors of 8 districts were present here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the Jagan Mohan Reddy headed government had brought many reforms in revenue department and now the land resurvey would be a most forward step in this regard.

“The land disputes are leading to clashes and differences among the people in rural areas. Now we depend on the British era land survey. Now we are conducting the land resurvey using the latest technology and precise land measurements and locations will be provided soon”, the minister informed, hoping that after the land resurvey, the land disputes in the rural areas would be subsided.

The Chief Minister is of the view that after the land resurvey, title free properties would help for institutional finance which would ultimately help for the establishment of industries and which churns out employment, the minister explained. The main objective of land resurvey is to eradicate disputes and corruption, he reiterated. During the rule of the previous governments, there were allegations that the cash benefits provided by the Central and State governments were misused, but under the rule of YSRCP led government, Direct Benefit Transfer was first implemented in AP and through this, Rs 1.65 lakh had been disbursed to the beneficiaries, and now other States had also taken a cue from AP to emulate the procedure.

The Revenue minister claimed that the distribution of 30 lakh house pattas was historicalITEM 2 in AP and the government had allocated Rs 12,000 crore for the construction of houses. There is no need to heed the accusations of opposition parties, the minister added.Chittoor District Collector M Harinarayanan, Ananthapur Collector Nagalakshmi, Putta Parthi Satya Sai District Collector Basant Kumar, Kurnool District Collector Koteshwar Rao, CCLA Joint Secretary Aparajitha and Secretary Ganesh were among those who were present.
