Since the Election Commission of India (ECI) started the nominations for the Lok Sabha elections, 478 candidates have filed their nominations for 17 seats in the State. The last date of the nominations is 25 April till 3 pm.
In all, 43 candidates have filed their nominations for Nizamabad, 42 for Bhongir, 42 for Medak, 38 people filed for Peddapalli (SC) constituency, 35 for Chevella, 34 for Nagarkurnool (SC), 34 for Medak, 33 for Nalgonda, 31 persons filed for Karimnagar, 29 for Secunderabad, 28 for Warangal (SC), 23 for Hyderabad, 19 for Khammam Lok Sabha constituency, 19 for Mahabubnagar, 17 for Zaheerabad, 15 for Mahabubabad (ST) and 10 candidates have filed their nominations for Adilabad (ST) constituency.
For the by-election of Secunderabad Assembly constituency, 13 candidates have filed 14 sets of nominations for the May 13 poll.
Till April 23, 478 candidates have filed 554 sets of nominations. Day by day, the number of nominations filed is also increasing. In all, 42 candidates have filed nominations on April 18, 58 candidates on April 19, 69 on April 20, 144 on April 22 and 165 candidates have filed their nominations on April 23.
