A leopard is reportedly on the prowl at Chetla Thummaipally village under Masaipet mandal in the district. As the news of the reported presence of the leopard spreads, the people are gripped by panic.
The villagers said that the leopard had already killed a calf and ate it in an agricultural field. The leopard raided a cattle sheld in the agricultural field and mauled a calf. The partially eaten carcass was left in the field.
The farmer, Krishna, informed the Forest Official. The officials are expected to visit the village on Monday.
A large number of farmers gathered at the agricultural field and decided to keep watch on the movements of the leopard.
