The BRS, the BJP and the Congress are the main rivals in Telangana. The leaders of these political parties clash verbally almost every day. But for a change, there is a possibility of some bonhomie among them.

President Draupadi Murmu is coming to Hyderabad on Monday for a five-day visit. The BRS government is making arrangements at the Rastrapathi Nilayam at Bollaram where the President will stay. Draupadi Murmu is coming to Hyderabad for the first time after she became the President.

In the last seven decades, it has been a custom for the President and family to visit Hyderabad for a brief stay during winter. Due to the Covid pandemic, the President has not been coming to Hyderabad since the last two years during winter. After three years the President is finally visiting Hyderabad. It is a custom to host a dinner in honour of the President during her stay in Hyderabad by the state government. The Governor will also host a dinner in honour of the President.

For the dinner hosted by the state government and by the Governor, all MPs, MLAs, MLCs and other dignitaries will be invited. The state presidents of the BJP and the Congress, Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Revanth Reddy, are also MPs.

In Telangana, along with the BRS, the BJP, and the Congress have MPs and MLAs. So the state government will invite all MPs and MLAs along with others to the dinner. In normal circumstances, there is a chance that some political parties may skip the dinner citing some reasons. But this time the BJP or the Congress may not avoid the dinner hosted by the state government or the Governor as President Draupadi Murmu hails from the ST community and is also a woman.

Due to political pressure, the MPs and MLAs are not likely to skip the dinner. If any political party avoids attending the dinner it will give a chance to their opponents to criticise them. Ahead of the Telangana Assembly elections, no political party will give a chance to criticise them by its opponents. During the dinner Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar, TPCC President Revanth Reddy, and BJP MLA Eatala Rajendar who have sharp political differences will come together.
