Illegal structure near Nagaram Road demolished

HYDRAA demolished an illegal structure built on a 40-foot-wide road in Nagaram. According to the statement by HYDRAA, the structure reportedly built by Nagaram Municipal Chairman Chandra Reddy, blocked a road connecting to Nagaram’s main road. Residents had filed complaints with HYDRAA, prompting officials to investigate the encroachment. After confirming the illegal construction, Commissioner Ranganath issued immediate demolition orders, and the structure was dismantled. Residents from five nearby colonies expressed satisfaction as they regained direct access to the main road. Following the demolition, HYDRAA officials requested the Nagaram Municipal Commissioner to rebuild the road for public use, a proposal the Commissioner promised to implement to ease local commute. Additionally, HYDRAA is yet to file a complaint against Chairman Chandra Reddy at the Kesara police station for the unauthorised construction. Commissioner Ranganath visited Errakunta Lake in Tarnaka on Wednesday following requests from the Nagarjuna Colony Welfare Association to restore the lake, which is free from any legal disputes. It is spread over 5.9 acres. Residents urged the Commissioner to restore and beautify the lake, which would help reduce foul smell and mosquito menace in the area.
