TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh has launched a scathing attack on the YSRCP government, accusing it of deceiving the poor people of Andhra Pradesh with its one-cent land distribution scheme.
Addressing the public at the ‘Shankharavam’ meeting in Cheepurupalli, Lokesh asserted that the houses and lands allocated by the Jagan Mohan Reddy government are susceptible to flooding whenever it rains.
He alleged that Jagan is embroiled in a Rs 7,000 crore scam related to the cent land scheme and a Rs 2000 crore scam under the guise of levelling land. Additionally, he criticized the state government for allowing roads across the state to degrade into swimming pools due to extensive potholes.
Highlighting the developmental efforts of the TDP during its tenure, Lokesh stated that Rs 1,000 crore was invested in developing the Cheepurupalli constituency. He directed his criticism towards YSRCP Minister Botsa Satyanarayana, accusing him of failing to utilise his power and authority for the region’s development and instead engaging in corrupt practices.
Lokesh went further to accuse Botsa’s family of acting like a cancerous growth, seizing lands belonging to retired army personnel and impoverished families in the Vizianagaram district. Urging the electorate to reject Botsa Satyanarayana in the upcoming elections, Lokesh warned of the detrimental consequences of allowing such corruption to persist.
In a stern message directed at YSRCP Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy from Etcherla constituency, Lokesh recounted an incident where TDP activists from the BC community embarked on a cycle yatra from Ranasthalam to Tirupati following the arrest of TDP Chief & Former AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu in what Lokesh described as a false case. However, their journey was obstructed by Peddireddy’s supporters in Punganur, who issued threats. Lokesh condemned this behaviour, emphasising that such disrespect towards BC communities will not be tolerated, and warned of repercussions for such actions.
