Lokesh seeks liberal aid from Centre

State Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh has detailed to the Union Minister the unprecedented flooding of the Krishna River. Minister Lokesh reported on the extensive damage caused by the flood and urged the Union Minister to provide substantial aid to those affected. He noted that during the crisis, the Chief Minister acted with vigilance, effectively preventing loss of life.
Minister Nara Lokesh welcomed Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan upon his arrival at Gannavaram Airport on Thursday afternoon to assess the flood-affected areas. Subsequently, the Union Minister conducted an aerial survey of the Budameru and catchment areas.
The survey also included affected locations such as Jakkampudi Milk Factory, Kandrika, and Ajit Singh Nagar. Minister Lokesh briefed the Union Minister on the damage in these areas.
Following the aerial survey, they landed at the Chief Minister’s residence helipad and inspected the flood-damaged Prakasam Barrage gates by road. Lokesh provided details on the repair works required for the gates. They then examined the affected areas of Jakkampudi Milk Factory, Kandrika, Ajit Singh Nagar, Ambapuram, and Vijayawada aboard an NDRF boat. Lokesh highlighted ongoing efforts to address the breach in Budameru.
In response, Union Minister Chouhan assured that aid would be provided to mitigate the damage caused by the flood as swiftly as possible. He pledged support to help the flood-affected residents return to normalcy. Union Minister Chouhan’s visit was accompanied by Minister Lokesh, Union Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, MP Purandhareswari, and MLA Sujana Chaudhary.
After touring the affected areas, Union Minister Chouhan visited the command control room at the Vijayawada Collectorate and met with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The Chief Minister presented details of the flood damage through a photo exhibition of the affected regions. Chief Minister Chandrababu and Union Minister Chouhan then reviewed the damage with senior IAS officers, who briefed the Union Minister and presented reports on the extent of the damage.
