Lokesh wins from Mangalagiri in second attempt

Mangalagiri Assembly constituency attracted the attention of not only Andhra Pradesh but also neighbouring States as Telugu Desam Party chief and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh contested for the second time. Nara Lokesh won the seat with a huge margin. Nara Lokesh defeated YSRCP candidate M Lavanya by a huge margin of 89,319 votes.
Mangalagiri constituency assumes significance as it is located between two big cities Vijayawada and Guntur. Moreover, it also spread into the capital region of Amaravati.
Nara Lokesh contested from the same constituency in the 2019 elections but he was defeated by YSRCP candidate Alla Ramakrishna Reddy.
The YSRCP focused on the Mangalagiri constituency to defeat Nara Lokesh at any cost. As part of its plans to defeat Nara Lokesh in Mangalagiri, it did not give the ticket to sitting MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy.
