Lovers attempt suicide, man dies

Lovers attempted suicide by consuming pesticide in which the man died while undergoing treatment at Mantralayam in Kurnool district on Sunday.
Police said Ravi (26) and Netravathi had been in love for the last three years. However, their parents did not agree to their marriage. They belong to Dharwad in Karnataka state.
They consumed pesticides near the railway track at Dibbanadoddi village in Mantralayam mandal. The locals saw the lovers in an unconscious state and informed the police. The police shifted them to the area hospital in a 108 ambulance. As their condition turned to be critical, they were admitted to the GGH where Ravi died while undergoing treatment. The condition of Netravatih is said to be critical. The police registered a case and shifted the body of Ravi for postmortem. The police are investigating to ascertain the exact reasons for the suicide attempt of young lovers.
