Makers say there’s a conspiracy against Game Changer

Ram Charan and Shankar’s combination ‘Game Changer’ was released with high expectations on January 10. This is one of the high budget films in Telugu Cinema and also Shankar’s first Telugu film as a director. Dil Raju is the producer and he nearly spent Rs 450 crore on this film, according to a source. The makers expected huge openings, but to disappoint them, the openings are not good. Even the film got so much of negative talk after the release. Now, the makers are alleging that there is a conspiracy behind the negative talk and also the film unofficially leaked in some social media platforms deliberately.
Despite investing crores of rupees and over three years of relentless effort, the film became an unfortunate victim of piracy. On its release day during Sankranti, a pirated version of the film was leaked online by a group reportedly consisting of around 45 individuals, say the makers.
Not only the film was leaked, but the producers also got threatening calls. Before the release, the film’s producers and a few team members were threatened through social media and messaging platforms like WhatsApp. They demanded money from the producers and if they didn’t pay them, they threatened to leak the pirated version of this film. Two days before the release, important plot twists were spitefully shared on the social media. After the release, an HD pirated print was leaked on various Internet platforms and Telegram.
The ‘Game Changer’ team now officially filed a complaint with Cybercrime police and provided evidence against the 45 individuals involved in these criminal activities. An investigation is going on to find out whether this group committed these crimes independently or as a group or had any external support.
Apart from the piracy, there was a campaign conducted on the Internet and also different social media platforms, to spread negativity about this ‘Game Changer’.  A few key clips and important sequences from the film were intentionally leaked to destroy audience enjoyment. The team lodged formal complaints against these pages and has been assured that necessary action will be taken soon.
