Malabar-Koraput double rly line section inspected

AM Chowdhary, Commissioner of Railway Safety, South Eastern Circle conducted a thorough inspection of the newly constructed double line of 6.89 km between the Manabar-Koraput section on Thursday. The inspection was completed successfully, the speed train was conducted successfully and authorization was received. The inspection was conducted as part of the doubling project of the Koraput-Kirandul line. The doubling works in other parts of the section, in difficult terrain, are in progress.

Anup Satpathy, Divisional Railway Manager, Waltair; Chief Engineer, K Dhanunjaya Rao; Chief Administrative Officer AP Dwivedi, Chief Bridge Engineer Anand Kumar Singh and other officers accompanied for the safety inspection.This was achieved after a lot of hard work done by the Civil Engineering, Signal & Telecom, and Electrical departments despite inclement weather, remote area, etc. The section has been commissioned with complete yard lines, bridges, etc in this section. As a part of this project, several traffic facilities including new cross-overs laid at station yards, additional platforms, and bridges were also laid and got inspected today.

Addressing the media, DRM Anup Satpathy said that the 24kms new double line constructed between Damanjodi-Koraput and Manabar-Koraput got inspected by the Commissioner of Railway Safety in two days and the speed trial was also conducted successfully. After Non-Interlocking works, to be done shortly, these sections would be utilized for train movement, he said.
