Planning Board Vice Chairman and Central MLA Malladi Vishnu said that the Vijayawada Central constituency is making a lot of progress under the leadership of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
On Monday, the MLA conducted ‘Bhumi Puja’ along with Deputy Mayor ShriSailaja Reddy and local corporator Y Thirupathamma, for the construction of BT Road works on the Inner Ring Road with a cost of Rs 9 crores from the funds of the 15th Finance Commission at 64th Division Kandrika Junction.
On the occasion, Malladi Vishnu revealed that after the YSR Congress government took the reins, state government funds, 14th Finance Commission, 15th Finance Commission, and VMC General Funds are allocating large amounts to meet the needs of the people to develop infrastructure.
As part of this Rs 5 crores will be spent for laying a BT road of 5.3 km from Pipes road junction to Jakkampudi junction and with Rs 4 crores 4.2 km BT road will be laid from Kandrika Junction to Mustabad Junction and expressed delight for begin the works.
The MLA said that the Vijayawada – Nuzvid road, which has already been taken up with funds of Rs 2.50 crore, will resolve traffic curbs in the constituency.
On the other hand, the 3 km road works from Kandrika to Patapadu with the state government funds of Rs3.50 crore is going on at a swift pace.
He criticized Telugu Desam for failing to build at least one small road in this region during the last five years of rule.
After this government came to power, Rs 12 crore development work has been undertaken in the division. Focusing mainly on the roads, he stated that the roads are being modernized from time to time.
He informed that a white paper will be released soon on the progress made in four and a half years regarding the construction of roads.
