The Chittoor ADJ court awarded the death sentence to the accused in a double murder and rape case to death on Tuesday.
According to the police, the accused Syed Moulali developed an illicit relationship with the deceased Sarala in Gangireddypalli village in Thamballapalle mandal in Annamayya district. Later disputes erupted between them.
Moulali murdered Sarala and sexually assaulted her 12-year-old daughter and later murdered the minor girl on January 1, 2021.
Meanwhile, DGP KV Rajendranath Reddy in a statement here on Tuesday, said that the police had taken the double murder case seriously and carried out an investigation. The case was investigated and the charge sheet was filed under the ‘conviction-based policing’ programme. The investigation and trial were completed in 20 months and the court awarded the death penalty to the accused, the DGP said.
