Bhairavam, featuring Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas, Manchu Manoj and Nara Rohit, released on May 30, followed by a media conference on May 31. During the event, Manchu Manoj spoke about the impact of re-released films on current releases.
“The re-release films should avoid weekends. If they release on weekdays, it would be ideal. One film is killing another Telugu film, which is not good. Weekends are when audiences go to theatres, so re-releases should avoid those slots,” Manoj said.
While he did not name any film, it’s worth noting that Mahesh Babu’s Khaleja re-release coincided with Bhairavam. Manoj’s comments suggest a direct impact on Bhairavam’s collections.
He also pointed out that festival dates and holidays are already locked by big films, and now re-releases are adding pressure on smaller releases.
When asked about rumors surrounding the missing hard drive of his brother Manchu Vishnu’s Kannappa, Manoj declined to comment. Vishnu had allegedly claimed that Manoj was involved in the matter. Manoj responded, “I don’t want to comment on that hard drive. I’m focused on Bhairavam promotions. My best wishes to Kannappa.”
