Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that all the promises which they have made in the manifesto cannot be implemented all at once. In a media interaction on Sunday at Banjara Hills, responding to KTR’s statement that Karnataka government couldn’t keep up the promise of filling two lakh government job vacancies, Siddaramaiah said, “At once, all promises made in the manifesto cannot be implemented. Manifesto is for five years. We have fulfilled five guarantees in the first phase and also 76 promises. In the first phase we have implemented five guarantees.” “In newspapers, I saw that some say that the Congress government in Karnataka has not implemented the five guarantees. It has been said by the Telangana CM, his son and other leaders from the BJP. It is not true. We came to power in Karnataka in May. We took oath on May 20 and orders were issued on the same day. However, it took some time to implement,” Siddaramaiah said.
“Opposition parties are making allegations for only election purpose. But the truth is otherwise. Under the Shakti Yojana women are travelling in government buses free of cost. Due to the Food Corporation of India (FCI) refusing to give rice, we have been transferring the money of five kgs of rice to all beneficiaries under Annapadhya scheme.”
“Grihajyothi was started in July, under which every households are getting up to 200 units free power.  The Gruhalaxmi scheme was started in August, and every woman head of family is getting Rs 2,000. All the four guarantees have been implemented except one, which is the Yuva Nidhi scheme which will start from January 2024. Under this scheme, Rs 3,000 would be paid to the unemployed youth and Rs 1,500 for unemployed diploma,” he said.
Replying to Karnataka farmers’ protest in Telangana, he said, “They are not Karnataka farmers. If they have to get relief from the Karnataka government, why did they come to Hyderabad? Because they (BRS) are afraid that they are going to lose the government. There is a strong incumbency, rampant corruption and family rule.”
