Minister for Prohibition and Excise V Srinivas Goud on Sunday blessed the couples who tied the knot at the Goddess Alivelu Mangatayaru temple attending the mass marriages organized by Santa Narayana Goud Charitable Trust and Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Swamy Charitable Trust.
The Minister served food to the new couples and their family members and later had a community lunch along with the couples. He assured to stand by the couples in all respects.
Addressing the couples, the minister thanked the couples for making the programme a grand success at short notice. He said that the marriage hall has been built for mass marriages. At least 100 couples can tie the knot simultaneously.
Explaining the significance of the marriage venue, he said that long back sages observed tapas here. At a time, 21 couples tied the knot, he said calling it a matter of great joy for him. He said that an air-conditioned marriage hall would become operational at the temple the next year. He said that the performing marriage of girls in poor families has become extremely difficult. He said that he would make arrangements for the new couples to have darshan of the deity atop the Manyamkonda.
A budget hotel and a convention centre would be set up near the Goddess Alivelu Manga Tayaru temple. An 18-room guest house was already built atop Manyamkonda hill. Another guest house with 20 rooms would be provided there. In future, Manyamkonda would become a wonderful place, he added.
He promised to provide jobs to the new couples in the industries to be set up at Mahabubnagar soon. He wished the couples to lead a happy life.
Later, the minister along with his spouse performed special puja at Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Manyamkonda.
