Traffic to be stopped on Telugu Thalli flyover for Formula E

Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari discussed security arrangements at the Dr BR Ambedkar Secretariat Complex which is being inaugurated on February 17 and the arrangements for the Formula E racing being held on February 11 at a high level meeting held at the BRKR Bhavan on Tuesday.

The meeting decided that traffic will not be allowed on the Telugu Thalli Flyover to Khairatabad Flyover road and from Mint Compound to i-Max from February 5 in view of the Formula E race being held on February 11.

The meeting decided that the public should be informed about alternative routes and they should be made ready to avoid delaying Secretariat works due to the Formula E race.

The meeting also decided to provide high level security to the New Secretariat building being inaugurated on February 17.The Police, R&B, GAD, the Telangana Special Police and IT departments should work in close coordination. Three companies of the Telangana Special Police and 300 city police personnel will take care of security at the Secretariat building, the meeting decided.

The Traffic Police have allotted 22 personnel for the purpose. Security gadgets like baggage scanners, vehicle scanners, body scanners etc will be kept ready, the meeting decided.

The Secretariat complex which is spread over 28 acres has parking facilities for 560 cars and around 900 two-wheelers.

Six sentry posts have been set up around the Secretariat and 300 CCTV cameras have been installed to ensure security. A special command control room has been set up to oversee security arrangements. Monitoring of visitors will be done through special identity cards.

Two fire engines with 34 staffers have been deployed on the Secretariat premises. Special arrangements have been made for physically challenged people. Visitors will be allowed on all floors except the sixth floor. The HMWSSB has already arranged water supply and sewerage works are in progress.

DGP Anjani Kumar, Special CS MAUD Arvind Kumar, IT Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, R&B Secretary Srinivas Raju, CP CV Anand, SPF DG Umesh Sharaf, Additional DG Sanjay Kumar Jain, DG Fire Services Nagi Reddy, Addl. DG Intelligence Anil Kumar, R&B E-in-C Ganapathi Reddy and other senior officials attended the meeting.
