Municipal Commissioner Keerthi Chekuri has said that special medical camps have been set up to treat people suffering from suspected diarrhoea. She inspected a medical camp at Sarada colony and spoke to the doctors.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner said that health problems have been arising in the city for the last few days in the 9th Line of 150th Ward Secretariat, in the 4th Line Abhayanjaneya Swamy Kalyana Mandapam, in the 15th Line Emmanuel Prayer Hall, at Workers’ colony, DR Function Hall, BB Nagar Immadi Function Hall, Lanchester Road Kannur Divya Hall and at LR colony.
Special medical camps have been set up in Kalyana Mandapam in collaboration with the Medical and Health Department, she said.
Commissioner Keerthi Chekuri said that medical camps, drinking water samples and home health surveys have been conducted in 7 areas in Sarda colony, Sangadi Gunta and other areas of the city to resolve the health problems of the people.
“Responsibilities have been assigned to the revenue officers under the deputy commissioners for each camp. If people have any health problems, they should consult the doctors in the medical camp instead of waiting until the problem worsens,” she stated.
Adequate doctors, medical staff and necessary medicines were made available in the medical camps, she said, adding that 520 chlorine samples have been taken by the amenity secretaries during the supply of drinking water in the city every day, and 32 amenity secretaries are also taking chlorine samples at the tankers providing drinking water in every street in Saradakkali, Sangadigunta, Lanchester Road and other areas, and the chlorine was found inappropriate amount.
Keerthi Chekuri said that more than 105 welfare, ANM, women police officers and 560 volunteers are conducting household health surveys in 35 ward secretariats in the suspected areas. MHO (FAC) Madhusudan, RDO Balaji and other officials were among those who accompanied her.
